While you are battling flu symptoms or seasonal allergies, you might be wondering if you can pass the virus onto your pet. The answer is no, but that doesn't mean your cute canine is exempt from feeling under the weather.
Several different viruses can cause cold symptoms in dogs. Some are more serious than others, so it's important to schedule a vet visit if your pup is showing cold symptoms.

Common canine cold symptoms include:
Sneezing
Coughing
Runny or congested nose
Watery eyes

These symptoms could be a result of a dog cold virus, but could also signify something more serious: dog flu, parainfluenza virus, bronchitis, or canine distemper.
The safest option when your dog is experiencing these symptoms is to call LVMC. Any change in appetite, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or other changes in behavior can be a symptom of something worse.
Keep yourself safe and well this season, and keep an eye on your furry pal while your at it!
